What’s The Story?
Bonsai as we know it first appeared in Chinese history around 700 A.D. in the Tang dynasty. During this time, the Japanese sent emissaries to China, and soon they were adopting much of China’s culture, especially the arts. The Chinese pen tsai (pot tree) became the Japanese bon sai.
